Media/Public Relations Specialist

One of the nations leading investor relations agencies is seeking a bright, aggressive Media/Public Relations Specialist for our growing media relations practice to be based in our office in West Los Angeles. The main thrust of the job is a proactive outreach to media outlets. It will also involve developing appropriate media relations strategies and positioning for a range of NASDAQ, AMEX and NYSE-listed public company clients. Your knowledge of PR strategy and tactics, professional demeanor, phone presence, ability to manage your time and writing skills are very important to us.

We feel that a person with a background in media and publicity, public relations or journalism will be well suited to this job. Agency experience is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Challenging position with a rapidly growing leader in the investor relations consulting field. Work with some of the nation's leading public companies to redefine their brand positions with the broad range of electronic and print media. You will need to be able to combine strong communications skills with an ability to understand and present financial and corporate stories, draft press releases and other documents and develop media placement. Additionally, you should be able to develop creative branding and marketing initiatives.

You should have a proven ability to make a high volume of outgoing calls, excellent writing skills, and preferably a basic understanding of financial statements and securities analysis or at least the means to comprehend and explain complex business topics. Salary to be negotiated based on education and work experience, in the range from $40k to $65k plus profit sharing and benefit package.

* Experience managing client accounts and client interaction.
