JOB SUMMARY: Lead the firm’s product specific sales efforts with a focus on developing new business and deepening existing relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Primary responsibility is to develop new business for the firm and specific product set primarily in the intermediary channel, but also may include opportunities in the institutional and defined contribution channels • Work with appropriate Sales teams to identify asset gathering opportunities with both current and potential financial advisors, institutional and defined contribution relationships • Coordinate with the appropriate Regional Manager, assisting them in closing sales opportunities in their region o Regular travel within the Intermediary, Defined Contribution and Institutional channels to address specific product sales goals/targets • Work with Sales and Marketing leadership to develop their product specific sales story, provide input regarding materials • Team with Corporate Accounts on appropriate, significant opportunities, for example; o In front of top advisors for their product o Sponsor-developed conference calls o Top meeting presentation opportunities at sponsor • Interact with Fund/Product subadvisors to maintain product knowledge • Regularly identify appropriate content produced by Affiliate or Fund subadvisor(s) for use in sales channels • Interact with Investment Research on both product and subadvisor specific issues • Provide regular reporting of activities, pipeline of new sales opportunities, large client focuses and product initiatives to Sales Leadership
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Proven record of successful sales expertise in the financial industry • Strong knowledge of the Investment Management Industry and key portfolio management concepts • Communicates effectively and persuasively with colleagues, clients and brokers • Comfortable working with databases for tracking of business and measurement metrics • Supports and upholds Firm values and treats others with respect and consideration • Acts as a role model and resource for junior employees
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or marketing related major • Master’s or professional designation of CIMA or CFA a plus • Minimum of seven year’s in financial services industry, with a minimum of five years of demonstrated sales experience • Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 licenses • 60% Travel expected
