Job Description:
We are looking to recruit a Project Implementation Manager reporting to our Investment Advisor responsible for SE Asia. The candidate will be based in South East Asia (Bangkok or Manila - to be agreed), with responsibility for the management of the development of multiple (approx 40) SE Asian based CDM projects, from validation through to successful verification & issuance. The role will require extensive travel between and within the Philippines, Thailand, and other SE Asian nations. The individual will be responsible for guiding a team of people and the developer and operator of the relevant projects.
Responsibilities:
Project manage the preparation and development of CDM project design documentation (PDDs) and guidance through the registration process
Gathering of requisite information to support the Validation process from various stakeholders
Management of the CDM validation and registration process, interacting with Designated Operational Entities and other relevant stakeholders
Monitoring, Verification & Issuance
Project manage the design and implement of monitoring policies and procedures and ensure successful CER issuance
Training of relevant project staff and owners
Ongoing review of the successful implementation of monitoring policies, procedures and training
Management of the verification process, including liaising with Designated Operational Entities to ensure a smooth verification and issuance process
Training and Management
Identification of risks in the portfolio of projects, and their management
Provision and reporting of up to date, acute and timely information to the Head Office
Training of key staff and stakeholders throughout the CDM project process to ensure effective execution of responsibilities
Manage and nurture a team of individuals in different nations, coordinating their activities and prioritising work efforts
Requirements:
- The candidate will have 3 years(+) of direct CDM development experience, working in emerging markets with a strong science, technical or engineering background and with demonstrable application experience.
- The candidate will also have a good team building attitude.
- Significantly, the candidate will have a track record of direct experience of both the Preparation and development of CDM project design documentation (PDDs), and successful registration
- Design and implement of monitoring policies and procedures, and of successful CER issuance
- Excellent written and spoken English, communication & PC skills
- Ability to work in a developing world context
- Strong analytical and technical profile
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while managing and prioritising multiple simultaneous tasks
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of the UNFCCC and CDM processes
- Experience of use of biogas related methodologies
