Description:
We are actively seeking a highly motivated recent (or soon-to-be) graduate from a top undergraduate business program for placement as entry-level analysts for the firm’s Western Region National Accounts mortgage origination team and the Affordable Housing mortgage origination team. The Western Region National Accounts team specifically serves large institutional borrowers (REITs, real estate operating companies, pension fund advisors, and real estate developers) based in the western United States. Transactions are typically range in size from $20 million to $200 million. The Affordable Housing team specializes in financing multifamily apartments with low income housing tax credits, tax exempt bonds, Section 8 and other subsidies throughout the western United States.
Assignments are also available in a variety of functions including originations, underwriting, asset management and servicing. The Real Estate Analyst position is typically a three-year assignment. Based on business needs, strong performance and mutual agreement, a one or two-year extension may occur.
Responsibilities:
• Provide superior analytical support to senior members of the team on a wide variety of assignments, including cash flow modeling, risk analysis, property valuation, and extensive use of proprietary modeling and loan sizing templates.
• Assist senior members of the team with all aspects of the loan origination process, including due-diligence review, case file preparation, and loan closing.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate business program, preferably with a concentration/major in Finance and/or Real Estate.
• Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability.
• Computer proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a deal team.
