This position shall, among other things, provide support to TPG with respect to financial analysis of potential acquisitions and structures, due diligence, valuation, transaction analysis and documentation, market research, and preparation of reports and other presentation material for internal and/or external uses.
This summary is not intended to be all-inclusive; the analyst will be expected to be flexible and actively engaged in supporting the Company’s growth and investment objectives in whatever capacity required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide analytical support to executive acquisition and asset management professionals
· Prepare and analyze project underwriting, financial and valuation analysis
· Perform financial modeling to develop multi-year projections incorporating growth prospects and new market opportunities
· Assist with the modeling, structuring and negotiating for alternative debt and equity financing sources including cash flow waterfall structures
· Assist team in filtering potential acquisition opportunities
· Assist in gathering, analyzing, and summarizing due diligence materials including interfacing with third party consultants, site visits, primary market research, review of legal documents, etc.
· Maintain a pipeline report of deals the Company is considering and the status of those deals
· Various aspects of asset management on assets post-acquisition
· Provide support in negotiations/closings and dispositions
· Maintain a database of transactions in the marketplace, both of closed and active transactions
· Assist in preparation of weekly research newsletter tracking current market trends/activity
· Assist subsidiaries with micro-economic research
· Support TPG with macro-economic research
· Prepare presentations and reports as needed for internal purposes, external purposes and consulting engagements
· Provide ad hoc analysis to the senior management team
· Other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Licenses:
· Strong analytical background and understanding of finance and accounting
· Strong proficiency in preparing financial models and proformas including waterfall analyses
· Direct experience with multi-family assets coupled with other commercial knowledge as well. Single family experience a plus
· Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced team environment with a positive attitude
· Possess strong integrity and professionalism
· Self-directed and have outstanding initiative and strong work ethic
· Highly organized, detail oriented and possess excellent problem solving skills
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
· Understanding of basic principles of real estate finance, capital structures and development
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years relevant experience within real estate investing, investment banking, financial advisory, investment management or Big 4 public accounting firm
· Strong financial modeling experience and proven expertise in Excel and Argus
· Working knowledge of finance and financial accounting
· Proven capability in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and drawing logical conclusions coupled with strong writing skills
