Job Description: This director of communications position is responsible for developing, leading and driving the strategy and messages to be delivered by the President of Financial Planning, Retirement & Wealth Strategies and Chief Marketing Officer. The individual in this position will be expected to have a broad understanding of key communications initiatives/messages within the firm, as well as consumer trends in the marketplace and ensure message comprehension, consistency, integration and audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities: -Develop messaging platform and manage important touchpoints that connect key messages and create a consistent, engaging experience for audiences. This includes speechwriting and presentation development, as well as other writing for multiple channels across internal (corporate and field) and external audiences. -Create the storyline and key messages for use in speeches, presentations and other communications forums. -Collaborate with Financial Planning, Retirement, Wealth Strategies and Marketing team, as well as Corporate Communications and colleagues from across the company to develop content and integrate messages across various communications channels -Work closely with Consumer Insights team to understand trends and opportunities in the marketplace and identify additional research as needed
Requirements: -Highly skilled in executive communications, including speechwriting, presentation development and writing with extensive expertise in internal and external communications -Familiarity and experience working in multiple communications formats/channels -Understanding of financial services industry, marketing, our competitive landscape and the regulatory environment -Strategic thought leadership to connect complex content and messages across multiple audiences and channels -Strong influencing skills and proven effectiveness in consulting with different business areas -Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment under tight deadlines -Excellent written, verbal and multi-media communications skills -Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English or related field preferred
